Without them, genuine harmony—whether with people or with our Creator—remains impossible. In our families, among friends, and within the wider community, we must learn to forgive, apologise, and sincerely repent. When we wrong others, we must acknowledge it, regardless of our position or authority. Being a father, a leader, or a provider does not remove the need for accountability. Statements like “I feed you, so I owe you no apology” are unjust. Healthy relationships depend on admitting fault, seeking forgiveness, and correcting our behaviour. We must also learn to forgive and accept sincere repentance from others. Holding on to resentment harms you more than the offender; it traps your mind in negativity. Forgiving in your heart—even when the other person refuses to acknowledge their wrong—frees you from bitterness and harmful thoughts. As we strive to forgive others, may Allah forgive us for our own shortcomings. Ameen.
