When we were younger, they said, “You’ll have time to play when you’re older.” But since Primary One, I’ve never had that time. Life kept moving faster — assignments, exams, responsibilities — and now as an adult, work takes almost everything. The things I once did for relaxation — playing the piano, chess, or reading — feel like luxuries I can barely afford. No one tells you that adulthood doesn’t give you more time; it takes it away. The Illusion of Preparation They tell you to study hard, graduate, and life will reward you. But when you finally graduate, you realize you know almost nothing about the real world. You have to unlearn half of what you were taught just to survive. School trains you for structure, not reality. It teaches you to pass exams, not to solve problems. They don’t tell you that the real education starts after school — and it’s the hardest kind, because it never ends. The Myth of Love and Happiness They tell you love is sweet, relationships are beautiful, and marriage is the ultimate goal. The wedding looks glamorous — one perfect day of celebration. But no one tells you that keeping that love alive takes more strength than falling in love ever did. They don’t say that maintaining peace in a relationship or marriage demands patience, sacrifice, and growth. Love alone is never enough. What you see in movies is only the surface — the real story begins after the wedding ends. The Weight of Being a Man They also don’t tell you that as a man, you will be judged by what you have and what you can provide. You will not be respected if you have nothing above others. Society rarely respects character; it respects position. No one will say this openly, but power, wealth, and influence often speak louder than goodness. The Hidden Struggle Behind Every Smile Everything looks glamorous from the outside — success, relationships, fame — but beneath it all are layers of roughness, exhaustion, and struggle. Life is not as polished as people present it. Everyone is fighting silent battles, pretending everything is fine. The truth is, life is not fair, and it’s not designed to be easy. But the deeper truth is that clarity — seeing things for what they really are — is power. Finding the Truth No one will hand you the truth. Society functions on illusion — promises of comfort that keep you moving, buying, and believing. But if you slow down and observe, you’ll start to see through it. The truth is everywhere, hidden in plain sight — in people’s eyes, in systems, in the daily grind. You either see it and accept it, or you stay blind and live disappointed. The truth they never tell you is that life will never pause for you. You must carve meaning, joy, and rest for yourself — no one will give it to you.
