WE CAUGHT A THIEF IN THE PLANE TODAY

I flew into Abuja this morning with the first flight.

We were all seated and waiting for take-off. Oyibo man gets up to take something from his bag, and starts saying his money is missing.

He calls the flight attendants to say his bag had changed position from the compartment on top of his head to the next and his 290k Naira was missing.

Then the woman two seats away gets up to say she saw the guy next to her (opposite side), pick that bag and move it to the next.

Nwannem, the man started denying. He was searched and the money was found under his seat.

Ha!!!

Within 5 minutes of getting into a plane and sitting down, someone gets up, grab your bag and steal from it??? Even before take-off??

Na wa o.

Our flight was delayed for maybe 20 minutes so airport security could come and carry our thief away.

Thief was seated two seats ahead of me on the opposite side. He was sweating so much from the head as we waited for security.

I could feel how nervous he was.

I felt so much shame for him.

But something struck me - While he was being searched, I noticed his bag was empty. It had only one shirt and no other personal effects.

So did he board the flight just to steal? I dont understand.

See how Oyibo would have accused the whole Nigeria of being thieves oh.

Thank God that woman was so observant. She saw him move the bag from one overhead compartment to the next, she actually thought it was his bag, until Oyibo raised an alarm.

Oyibo kept repeating, "I wont let this slide".

Some people recorded the event on video. I didnt bother. I just wanted to know how the thief knew there was huge cash in that bag.
