The University of Port Harcourt has addressed claims about the performance of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sourced from different filling stations. Dr. Ebigenibo urged Nigerians to dismiss the misconception that fuel from one station burns slower or performs better than another.

As the Acting Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Acting Director of the Offshore Technology Institute, Dr. Ebigenibo emphasized that PMS quality and performance are standardized, ensuring no significant difference in combustion efficiency between accredited stations.

With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt and a Ph.D. in Energy and Thermofluid Engineering from Cranfield University, UK, he reassured the public that these claims are unfounded and based on misinformation.

His statement comes in response to growing consumer concerns about fuel quality. He clarified that all PMS sold at licensed stations adheres to national standards for performance and safety.

Dr. Ebigenibo concluded by encouraging motorists to stay informed and rely on credible sources for accurate information.
