100-level student accidentally kills UNIDEL finalist during driving practice.

Delta State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of a final-year student from the University of Delta (UNIDEL).

Awele Eluemunor lost her life after being struck by a vehicle driven by a 100-level student of the same institution, who was learning how to drive.

The accident occurred last Tuesday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Reports indicate that the young woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was receiving driving lessons from her boyfriend, allegedly a suspected internet fraudster (Yahoo boy).

During the lesson, she lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and hit pedestrians.

One of the victims, Awele Eluemunor, a final-year student of the College of Nursing, Agbor, died on the spot. She was set to graduate in November.

Two other individuals sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Eyewitnesses reported that the car owner, the suspect’s boyfriend, immediately fled the scene after the accident, abandoning the young driver.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect has been arrested.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright, verified the incident, stating that one person died while another was injured.

He said, “One dead and one injured confirmed.”
