Blaugrana Blaze: Barça On Fire in European Opener

In a statement-making start to their Women’s Champions League campaign, FC Barcelona Femení delivered a football masterclass by demolishing Bayern Munich Women 7–1 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff tonight.

  • The Catalans seized control early — Alexia Putellas curled in a stunner in just the 4th minute to set the tone. 

  • Ewa Pajor doubled the lead in the 12th minute, continuing Barcelona’s ruthless attacking display. FC Bayern+1

  • By the 27th minute, Esmee Brugts added the third, and although Bayern pulled one back through Klara Bühl soon after (32′), Barça restored dominance just before halftime via Salma Paralluelo (45′+1) to make it 4–1 at the break.

  • The floodgates opened in the second half: Pajor scored again (56′), and Clàudia Pina wrapped up the scoring with a brace (88′ and 90′+2). 

Barcelona’s xG (expected goals) for the night was just 1.99 — meaning they massively outperformed expectations clinically.  Meanwhile, Bayern are now enduring their longest losing streak in the Women’s Champions League era.
