Katsina State Launches 8 New Armoured Vehicles to Tackle Insecurity 🚨

Katsina State Government has unveiled eight newly acquired Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to boost security operations across the state.

The launch, which took place on Monday, August 25, 2025, was presided over by Acting Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe during the State Security Council meeting in Katsina.

With this addition, Katsina now has a fleet of 43 APCs — the largest in the region — to strengthen the fight against banditry, kidnappings, and other criminal activities.

The government revealed that over ₦36 billion has so far been invested in security, covering personnel training, modern equipment, and the support of community watch groups and vigilante operations.

The move comes shortly after an attack in Gidan Mantau, Malumfashi LGA, where bandits invaded the community but were resisted, leading to the rescue of 76 kidnapped victims.

The Acting Governor assured residents that the government will continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Army and Air Force for enhanced operations, especially in difficult terrains where bandits operate.

He also urged communities to work closely with security agencies through intelligence sharing to ensure lasting peace across the state.
