Nine dead as bus crashes into truck on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Okpe stated, “The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:30 AM on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Ayetoro area. A total of 13 people were involved, including 10 male adults and 3 female adults. Sadly, 9 fatalities were recorded—6 males and 3 females—while 3 others sustained injuries.

“The crash was reportedly caused by excessive speed and driver fatigue, leading to a loss of control and a collision with a stationary truck. The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital in Mowe, while the deceased were transported to Idera Morgue in Sagamu.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander expressed deep concern over the reckless behavior of some drivers, particularly their failure to adhere to speed limits and neglecting the mandatory 15-minute rest after every four-hour journey.

He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and urged them to visit the Mowe Unit Command for further information regarding the incident.”
